Please help identify my distributor
« on: October 16, 2019, 02:42:08 PM »
I'm trying to get my 1953 CJ3A running better. I thought I would order plugs & points, but it looks like there were several options for distributors for my Willys. Can any of you help ID my distributor? The label is impossible to read at this point (maybe I need to use paint thinner on it). Here are some photos:

I found the following from another IAD 4008 discussion.  The 3 types of distributors are shown side by side.  The IAD 4008 seems to be the tallest body.  http://www.willysdistributors.com/index.html

Sure looks like an IAD 4008 to me.
The dustproof IAD 4008 was standard on 1952 CJ-3A.

rub some chalk on it, it makes the indented area highlighted.
