This post is about my 1953 CJ 3B rebuild that I started 3 1/2 years ago.  I love the old jeeps but never thought of owning one until 10 years ago, when my cousin offered it to me for $1.00!  I could not refuse.  These pictures show her when I first saw her and where she is now.

Wow, that's in good shape. I'd say get rid of the Solex carb, put some wheels on it and drive it!

Thanks!  I drove it for about five years, and then it started leaking oil so badly, I had to stop driving it.  It sat for two years,  then I decided to tear it all down and rebuild it...that was about 3 1/2 years ago.

This past summer I had to install a new flywheel ring gear, so I dropped the crossmember/transmission/transfer case/bellhousing as a unit, and replaced the ring gear.  When I reinstalled it all, I failed to notice the throwout bearing spring had flown out....so I had to tear it down again....
