1964,dj3a RHD(moved from cj3a forum)
« on: August 29, 2019, 01:54:34 AM »
Dear friends,
Searching for a 1953 cj3a for about 12 yrs, few more jeeps followed me home or rather I pulled them home.
One such beauty that I found was a very stock 1964 DJ3a .
She was very original and most of the parts like seats, engine, t96 gb,vaccum wiper motors, dry gauze air filter and most of bolts screws and bolts,APSO /SAEPD parking lights and to add to the list and original Firestone spare 6.70*15 tyre were on the Jeep.
After a long research and help from dj gurus on the DJ forum,I could get the beauty back to an acceptable state.
I'm somehow unable to post multiple pictures in one thread,I shall post pictures here.
Thanks and regards.
Dinesh

Dinesh, welcome.  It looks good from the front.  I couldn't get the pic to expand bigger.  I look forward to more pics.  I can't seem to even get one pic to post yet.  SteveK

Looks great!  I love the seat material and the "Dispatcher decal".  Did you have both of those made, or excellent condition originals?

Thanks Steve!
The springs were original but in very bad shape.had to replace few of the springs and got new tempered springs for the Criss cross hatching between the  coils.
The upholstery is new and had to wait nearly a year's time to find that.
I copied the dispatcher decal from some old pictures of surviving DJs on the internet and got it printed on a vinyl sticker.
Glad it came out nice.
Regards.

Completion update on the dj3a.
We found the original set of e brake equipment, the dust caps and the wheel caps and speedo cable for our DJ.
It's now complete and runs like a hare.
Big thanks to all the people and the forum who have helped me restore this Jeep.
