6th Annual Mason Dixon Willys Jeep Gathering
When: Sunday October 21, 2012 (10 am 3 pm)
Where: Historic Union Mills Homestead 3311 Littlestown Pike (MD-97) north of Westminster, MD 21158

Join us at Historic Union Mills for the biggest Willys Jeep Show in Maryland! Last year we had nearly 45 historic Jeep vehicles present! This event is open to historic Military Jeep vehicles (including GPWs), as well as all Willys and Kaiser Jeep era vehicles (CJs, Pick-ups, Jeepsters, Wagons, etc.) There is no registration fee. Donations and T-shirt sales benefit the Historic Union Mills Homestead Foundation. Swap meet vendors are encouraged to make a modest donation to support the event.

Trophies will be awarded as follows: Best CJ, Best Military, Best Non-Jeep Willys, Best Work in Progress, and Chairmans Choice.

Kountry Kafe Katering will be present with their pit beef rig and other food!

Know Where 2 Jeep and Adams Jeep & Extreme Off-Road will be there too!

Gettysburg Run: Why not make it a weekend event? We will do a 3 hour Gettysburg Battlefield tour on Saturday the 20th. This is open to all new and old Jeeps. We will meet at the Gettysburg Outlet Shoppes at 12 noon, by the movie theater complex. If your friends and family members do not want to join the Battlefield tour, the can see a movie, dine, and shop the outlets while we cruise Gettysburg! The Outlets are located at the intersection of US-15 and PA-97, Between Littlestown and Gettysburg, PA.

On Saturday evening, a number of us usually gather at Gary & Dells Crab House in Union Mills to eat Maryland steamed crabs (and lots of other food), drink a few beers, and tell lies about our Jeeps!

There are numerous Hotels, Motels, and B&Bs in the Gettysburg, PA and Westminster, MD area!
To register for the Gathering, simply send me an e-mail and let me know what type of Willys / Jeep vehicle you plan to bring. There is no rain date, so plan accordingly!

Thanks to everyone who supported the 6th Annual Mason Dixon Willys Jeep Gathering! :D

We had our best turn-out ever with 55 vintage Jeeps making the trek to the Historic Union Mills Homestead. 14 Jeeps joined the guided Gettysburg Battlefield tour on Saturday... also a high for the event!

One of the Carroll County Times front page stories was the Gathering! Seth and his son Levi are pictured as well as Sam's red CJ2A, Seth's dually, and a line of CJ's off into the distance. Jim Moore is also in another photo on page 7 of the paper!

Winners:

Best Work in Progress: David Watson, Taneytown, MD. 1947 CJ2A

Best Military: Stan Wurzburger, III, Hampstead, MD. 1958 Navy CJ-5

Best "Non-Jeep" Willys: Gary Bowles, Hagerstown, MD. 1956 Sedan / Rescue Truck

Best CJ: Stan Wurzburger, Jr., Manchester, MD. 1951 CJ3A

Chairman's Choice: Joe Gilbert, Sr., (State not listed), 1965 CJ5 Tuxedo Park

"Best" Trophy balloting was conducted only by owners of Jeeps registered at the Gathering. The Chairman's choice was my pick!

Photos will be posted after I get a chance to catch my breath! Hopefully, some of you will post you pics too!

Cheers!

Mike
