51 CJ3A Clutch Engagement
« on: May 11, 2019, 09:53:29 AM »
First I apologize if this topic has been covered but could not find in a search. My clutch stopped engaging. The entire clutch line into transmission is working fine so the problem seems to be in the transmission. Help and guidance welcome!

Thank you all!!

Bob

Stopped all of a sudden?  Does the clutch still feel OK.  It could be a problem with the shift forks in the transmission or transfer case where it has slipped into neutral and you just can not shift it into gear.

Either the clutch or transmission.....

I had a clutch lever control split on me (at a traffic light no less).  A pop! and the pedal went to the floor.  Luckily, I had my foot firmly on the brake.  Jeep died, I cranked it back up at the green light and pulled off at a parking lot to troubleshoot.

So, more info would help.  Cable tension, inspection window, stick shift movement with engine off, etc.

Pictures always help.
