L134 Block

I have this extra block that I did not end up building because of a crack in the oil galley (I think that's what it's called under the valve cover.) I think a couple of the head bolts have been drilled out and taped to accept a larger bolt and I believe that it would need to be bored to a 3 over. The machinist told me that it could be used, although it is not a ideal block. I am on the fence about scraping it. Would anyone use this block or is it scrap metal?

I would have a hard time scrapping any L-134 block, but maybe I'm a little sentimental about them. There is a finite number of these blocks.  If the machinist says it's usable, I would not let it go quite yet.  Only .030 over tells me that block still has a lot to give.

I would keep it. I traded a ww2 production block in at Midwest Military and I was shocked that he wanted it given the number of cracks between the cylinders. I figured it had gone its last mile. But there is a lot that can be done to save an engine block if you really want to.

Almost any damage can be repaired on cast iron blocks if your in need of one. Put it on ebay or here and see what comes up. I would not scrape it. I scraped out a CJ2A and kept the engine and tranny assembly as well as other parts for future use or sale. I also have a bare block that was original with my Jeep.
