3A and 3B

Is there a tub difference between the 2 body styles?  My inexperienced eye is only picking up window frame, grill and hood differences.  My reading tells me that this was so they could change engines to a taller one.  Is this the only reason/difference?

Also, since the gas tank is under the driver's seat, it seems like the seats probably can't move front to back.  Does this make reaching the pedals difficult for anybody?  Does anybody's wife need help reaching the pedals?

The 3Bs have a taller grille, cowl and hood. I think it is 4". Others will know the exact amount.

If you are tall like me, you can do a wheel house notch and move the seat back some. I have no input for short people.

Anybody have to accommodate for small people?   Blocks on pedals so they can reach?

Well, my lovely assistant is about 5 foot four and she can drive the jeep without issues. These things are cramped for bigger people. You could add some different seat cushions pretty easily if you wanted.

There are basic differences in all four tubs - MB, 2A, 3A and 3B.
Each tub moved the driver seat away from the dash a little bit compared to the previous model by shortening the wheel housing. So 2A has slightly more room than MB - 3A more than 2A - you get the idea.

Even the 3B with the greatest seat back to dash dimension is too small for some guys and they've done what Nate suggested - cut back the wheel housing.
I've never heard of any flatfender owner complain of it being too big for a small driver. I've seen pics of kids driving them with no comment on the kid's legs being too short. I'm 6' tall and my 3B is a little bit cramped. My 2A is a lot cramped.� :P

No disrepect toward short people intended. :)  ;D

Just for enjoyment - a story from my Dad's years in WWII.
          Tall People Problems
Dad was a forward observer in artillery - the guy who crawls up close to the enemy where they can see you and shoot at you.
He had an assigned Jeep, a driver and a radio man. His driver was well over 6 ft tall and drove the MB / GPW with his knees sticking up above on either side of the steering wheel.

Looked kind of funny but Dad said he was a great driver. They never got stuck and never used the tow rope that most Jeeps had wrapped on the bumper.

I'm right at 5'-7 and 1/2".

My late 3B has 3 seat positions.
I use the middle position.

Way back when I drive a 2A, I recall that it fit me perfectly.
