Passenger seat latching?
« on: November 07, 2014, 07:08:07 AM »
My 3A had no mechanism to latch the passenger seat down.  Does such a device exist from the factory and if so does anyone have a photo?
thanks
Pat

You can do what they did to a few military M38 units and use a door latch bolt. I'll post a pic here in a bit.  Kind of bubba fix for military standards I might say.

That was one of the reasons why I chose to install seat belts in mine was to hold the passenger seat down.

They did not have any latch from factory and that bolt seems to be what most people do. I put lap belts on my jeep also.

I put lap belts in mine also.....

When you are a passenger with nothing to hold on to AND a seat that is not latched down, the seat belt gives at least some sense of security.....

i used an extra hood latch that i had lying around on mine. installed it on the right side, kinda out of sight. it keeps the seat down with no rattles when the seat is empty.
