fuel milage
« on: July 18, 2014, 05:11:46 PM »
I know it's a stupid question, and doesn't really matter, just trying to figure.  I don't even have my willys running yet.

has anybody figured their fuel milage?  not that it really makes a difference as far as riding for a day.   how long can youi expect to ride with a full tank?

I get 18-20mph puttering around town. I have an overdrive so engine RPM's are always pretty low even when rocketing along at 50mph.

Not a dumb question at all.  I get 20mpg consistently cruising speed on the road with my Solex with a lean (#112) jet.  With my Carter, it ran richer and I never did succeed leaning it out and the best I could do was about 16-18.

I fill up every 150 miles, and it looks like the tank still has 1-2 gallons in it.

With all the mountains around here, I get like 14 in both my rigs. I think the '53 gets slightly better than Ted.

Mine gets 14, pretty consistently.  My friend has a 2A with an overdrive, he gets about 20-21 consistently.

Where I live in AZ, I  lose more to evaporation, than driving.  Need to get out more!

Blue spends a lot of time idling while I test carbs. I couldn't begin to give you an accurate number.
