Canvas Seat Install

So I just got my Beachwood Canvas seats in today and realized the upper seat cushions have to be screwed through the canvas to the outer tubing.

Any suggestions or advice before I go about doing this?

When I purchased my Beachwood covers I also ordered the attaching hardware--the oval head screws and beauty washers.  If you didn�t you can probably get them at Home Depot, Lowes, or your local hardware store.  Start with the upper center screws and work your way outward and down, keeping the screws the same distance from the edge of the seat cover.

Yeah I didn't order the screw kit since I didn't know I needed it.  Do you think the Home Depot route would be OK or should I just wait and order it from Beachwood?

x2. They are inexpensive and are exactly what you need. No sense in cutting a corners on those nice seat covers. I got all my stuff from Beachwood and am very pleased with how it came out.

Get them from Beechwood and just like Calvin said start at top and work out and down. Use a awl to make the hole through material right over hole so you don't twist the fabric with screw threads

A few of this style clamp can be very helpful.� They will allow you to stretch tight and hold the canvas in place while you punch then screw it....

Even better and quicker than an awl is a nail (sized slightly larger than the screw) sharpened to a pinpoint.  Use a MAPP gas torch to heat up the tip red hot, then burn through the material where you need the hole.  Your screw won't get tangled up in the thread and the heat will sear the hole and help it from unraveling down the line.
