P&D Manufacturing fuel pump

I bought this pump on Ebay for $45.00. This was the heading on the add-
"1949 WILLYS FUEL PUMP 9353' RARE FIND FITS MODELS CJ-3A 4X463 Item condition:Remanufactured"
After recieving the pump it appears to actually be NOS. There's no wear on the pump arm and it looks brand new. The only differance I see from my original pump is the lack of a drain screw. There is a recess in the bowl but no bore where the drain screw would go.
It was made by "P&D Manufacturing" in Long Island City New York. Has anyone heard of this co? I googled them and didn't find anything. I'm planning to install it and see how the diaphrams hold up.

Did you see this thread? I had that same pump on my '53. It is the original. BTW, it won't work on a '49 if it uses a 2A front engine plate.

I did read that thread, very informative. My 3A is a pretty early 49 at #10511. It did have this same daul action pump on it when I got it but I can't say if it was original or if someone may have switched the front engine plate. It had a engine rebuild long before I got it. This needs further investigation but not tonight because the mosquitos are brutal and I've run out of "Off"

Just for what it's worth...

I have just disassembled what I think is an Airtex 4036, which looks like an aftermarket replacement for the AC 4036...

I think based on the condition of the diaphragms and the valves this pump would have worked fine for several more years.

The bowl and filter screen were pretty dirty, and the only problem i saw was the intake valve had stuck itself closed and so the pump may or may not have worked...

But I would have no problem installing an NOS pump even if it were 60 years old...as long as it hadn't been stored outside...
