I'm getting close to that point too...what do you need to know?

It looks to me like the transmission mount needs to be attached to the adapter plate, then the plate is attached to the transmission, and then the transmission and  mount can be attached to the crossmember...

Since we're on the topic,  how do you remove the donut mount from the cross member?  (I'm way behind you guys in my project!)

There is a shallow "cup' that is part of the crossmember. The doughnut fits inside the cup. I had to destroy my old doughnut but I was going to replace it anyhow....Once the rubber part is gone there will be a ring that fits tightly into the cup and you can pull it out...

You are not behind, we just started earlier...!

Thanks for the replys !  Dumb ? But how do I support the trans/ transfer case if I remove the crossmember ???????? Or should I just loosen the crossmember bolts & somehow raise the transmission / trans case & install the new rubber mounts  :-/

When doing the motor mounts, install them to the engine plate 1st, then attach them to the frame when you lower it in.

Either use a strap around the transmission thru the floor hole, (take the shifter cover off first)  hooked to something overhead like a beam in your shop, or use a jack underneath the bellhousing area. If you keep the engine mounts hooked up while you change the tranny mounts it shouldn't rotate due to the offset center of gravity. Change the engine mounts the same way, and I guess it would be smarter to change them first. Use an engine crane or overhead hoist with a strap around the engine or a lifting chain, or a wooden block on a floor jack under the oil pan. Put a little tension on the engine, then remove the attaching hardware on one side, lift it up,  replace the mount, drop it down and bolt it in,  then do the other side.

You'll find a long tapered punch helpful in lining up holes to put the bolts back through.

I like that idea !     Thanks F Bill
Use my Floor jack under the oil pan (with a 2x12 to evenly distribute the weight) to slightly raise the motor & change the motor mounts / Could I then drop the crossmember & replace the transfer case & transmission mounts & re-bolt the crossmember & then let the floor jack down & attatch the motor to the motor mounts ???????? :-?
Thank you all again for your help :)

Oops, I don't know why I was thinking your motor was out.  Sounds like you are on the right track to getting them changed out.

You'll need to have the motor mounts hooked up and jack at the tranny end to pull the crossmember. If your tub is still off a lift from above might be easier as the transfer case sorta makes things want to tip to one side. You'll see what I mean when you go to jack the back end.

If you leave the motor mounts off and just have a jack on the pan you'll have your tranny on the floor once you pull the crossmember bolts. It won't be good..
