Hey Guys....starting the rebuild on a '49 CJ3A.  Realized when I got this apart that at some point someone had converted to 11" brakes (I'm guessing from a truck, at least that's what the guys at Walcks are saying) so my question has a couple of parts.  For anyone out there who has messed with this, do I have to use larger lines to get more fluid to the wheel cylinders, and can I use the master cylinder that goes with the normal 9" brake system?

Yes, you can keep the stock lines and master cylinder. The front might use hoses that go right to the wheel cylinders instead of the little s lines. Can you post a picture of the brakes, preferably the inside of them where all the parts are? There were a couple different styles used.

Yes....as a matter of fact I do have hoses for it.  Here is a picture of the setup as it was on the jeep when I pulled it apart.

Here's where we are right now....mated the engine and tranny yesterday and got them mounted.

Those are the Willys Wagon/Truck type brakes since they use the cam adjusters.

It really looks great! Do you know what that paint color is called that you used on the wheels? It looks very much like the paint that is still left on my 51's wheels...Did your old body happen to be Luzon Red?

Yeah....that wheel color is called Autumn Yellow and I got it from Beechwood Canvas. �You probably know this but if you order from them (not cheap) I found that a quart will do all the wheels. �On the first project I was talked into a gallon by one of their staff and had most of it left over when I finished. Here's a pic of project one. �This one was Luzon Red when we took it apart and we changed to a color called Canyon Glow, I believe, with the wheels Sunset Orange. �All colors were chosen from the color charts for the year and purchased from Beechwood. �We are going to make this latest green with yellow wheels...we'll see!!

Nate: thanks...those tires were on another jeep I saw somewhere (can't even remember where now) and are called Super Traxion.  I had to special order them and then wait till the production company did a run. The garage project has NDT's that I got over in Akron (Ohio) from Summit racing.
The paint on the jeep pictured is called Canyon Glow, it was originally Luzon Red.
