solex carb

My solex carb worked just fine for the first 4 days on the Utah trip but on my last day it started to act up. Would not idle, seemed to flood when shut off, but was fine when the revs were up. I have no spacer behind the fuel pump. Can't figure why it would just change from being good to not! Any ideas out there? Even with the small carb problem it was the best Jeep trip I have been on thanks to Calvin and Lucille, the amazing hosts, and Carl and Betty who were always ready to test the Jeep to its limit. Don't miss it if any of you get a chance to go to this area. :)

Mac,

I'm just throwing out a thought.  I have a Solex.  It was running a bit rough, but I can't remember if it was at idle or throttle.  I developed a small leak below the float bowl.  I'm not sure where it was coming from.  It was hard to detect, as the fuel would evaporate the minute it hit the manifold.  I tightened all the nuts and screws.  The leak went away, and the Jeep ran as it should.
