3A reflector
« on: April 02, 2012, 07:47:38 PM »
Did 3As come standard with reflectors on the passenger side rear? My '49 shows no signs of having one. I've looked closely and it doesn't look like anybody tried to fill in the holes. Heck, if it was still on there, it would be painted with the red primer!

My research indicates that the first 1949 CJ-3As had right rear reflectors installed at the factory. Early in 1949 they were eliminated as standard equipment. Reflectors then became optional special equipment. I do not have a serial number for the change.

That change must have been before my '49. Mine is pretty late production, VIN# 37041, and the last number produced according to the 3B page is 37749. Ok, now I'm getting a real good picture of it. My '49 came through as a bare bones jeep with the only option being the passenger seat.
