Larry,Yes, you certainly hi-jacked this thread, but with such interesting information. However, it was not before Ryan_M's oil filter question had thoroughly been answered. This new topic truly deserved a thread of its own, but it has been a delight to view it here. Your pics of your Weekend at Reading are great and I certainly enjoyed reading your write-up of if as well. What a memorable experience.
Carl & Larry,I like the attitude the two of you have about retirement. Looking to both of you as mentors (guys who have "Been there, Done that", and who are "Can Do Movers & Shakers") I'm hopeful in following in your footsteps. I was born just a few years after you were (1944) but am anxious to follow in your way of life. After spending a week Jeeping with me, Carl and his wife know I'm certainly trying. It was fun to learn from Carl while he was here. I love being retired, I love my Jeep, the fun I had restoring it and the fun I have driving it in the canyons and desert (parades too).
Thanks to both of you for your knowledge and experience and for your willingness to share such with all of us here on the CJ-3A page.
And thanks to all on the 3A Page, the young, the old (retired or not), the beginners, and the experienced. We enjoy and learn from all post here. Jeeps are great, well worn or meticulously restored. They are all fun to see and hear about. This is truly a great site.
