Building an alternator bracket

The previous owner of my 3B "engineered" a custom alternator bracket that I want to replace.




You can see it (along with the cam gear that wasn't actually attached to the cam). I've already cut it off and all that fun stuff, but want to build something to hold a 1-wire alternator that I picked up a few months ago.

I'd rather build something than use one of those "universal" kits, it would be awesome if folks would share some pictures of how they have this setup.

You know there are several options already available.  If I had fabrication skills, I'd also probably just make one too.  The lower bracket just needs to provide enough clearance to allow the alternator to pivot.

Yeah, I've been looking at different options for pre-manufactured ones, I'd like to build my own if possible.

Hi Zach, I took a "universal" bolt together (pos) bracket, cut away all the extra metal and welded up this little beauty..

I built this one from scrap. The cast steel part is from a Toyota 22RE engine, the rest is just angle iron. It bolts to the same holes as the generator and uses the stock adjustment bracket. a Delco one wire with a double pulley is a perfect fit.
