help needed frame number
« on: December 07, 2017, 03:05:58 AM »
need some help ,cj3a frame number

I am from Holland/Europe ,at the import inspection,of my cj3a 1951,they are telling me there should be a vin/frame rail code in the frame also ,I think it shouldnt ,but were can i find any proof/documents that there is no number in the frame on a cj3a?

The body tag is there and looks legit ,i guess they think its not 100% original and somebody used another frame (i raised the the body 1 cm and used new bolds)
To be short,
1, any thing which says there is none ,and there should not be a number on a original cj3a frame ,
ore
2. I need a number on the frame witch says its the cj3a frame
This is driving me nuts because I wont get a license plate and cant drive it
To my knowledge a CJ3A has no frame number ,tried mr google images surge and did not find any cj3a frame numbers

Double check with Bob W, but 1951 3A certainly did not have a frame number.
I expect the reason was because those frames were factory built and not outsourced.

Willem,
I looked at Bob Westerman's book "The Civilian Jeep Model CJ3A" and on page 3, it states:
"Unlike many other Jeep models, CJ-3A's did not have frame numbers...."

Bob W's book references tons of Willys factory documents and, in my opinion, is considered very technically accurate.
