Transmission pulled.
« on: December 14, 2015, 01:09:03 PM »
I pulled the tranny out of my 53 3a and here's what I've got. Of course with the rust and lack of fluid, and sitting in a field for twenty years, nothing moved.
After getting the gears all out and mostly apart, it looks like most of it just needs cleaning up.
Your thoughts and experiences would be most appreciated.

Hopefully this gets you started on answers.

I was concerned the condition of mine was going to look similar to your photos,  because it sat for many years also.

I was thinking about dipping it all in diesel for a few days. Mine is just the same, sitting dry in the desert heat didn't really mess things up too much... but still...
