Here are some sites that discuss installing turn signals on your jeep. There are about as many different ways to wire a turn signal switch as there are ways to go from NY to LA, so make sure your TS switch is the same as the one in the diagrams linked.

I've been lurking there for a few years. It's a great resource.

If I had time, money, garage space and a sympathetic wife, I'd own an early '60s GMC Carryall or pickup with the 305 V6. What a torque monster - 300 ft lbs at only 1,400 RPM. I drove one of those all over the farm in my high school days (mid 1960s). Loved it.

And my folks had a camper built on a GMC pickup chassis that had the same engine in it. We drove it up the Alaska highway in 1972. What a fabulous trip. Wish I had that camper now.

When I added turn signals to my 3B, I decided I really didn't care about parking lights. In reality, they are an anachronism. We really don't use them for what they were originally intended.

I simply wired my turn signal switch to the front bulbs and all they do now is . . . uh . . . signal turns. �:)

I either have the lights all the way on - headlights - or all off. I never run with just the "parking lights" ie. tail lights and front "parking lights". Thus no need for dual filament bulbs in the front. Works for me.

Actually when you google turn signal stuff it always comes up, and it was in one of the links I had posted. I used to live down the street from the guy that writes "Notes from the Corrosion Lab" in VIntage truck so I am pretty familiar with those trucks. I have a camper with a Chevy chassis sitting in his yard , but no v6, only a straight 6 if I remember correctly. It has a gullwing style rear door. Great for hauling a motorcycle in if yo don't mind a long ramp.

BTW some state inspections woudl frown on the lack of parking lights...And then there are the enlightened states that don't bother.

Wow, I never knew.
The only thing Illinois "inspects" for is pollution. We have to drive all the newer cars in every couple years for Illinois EPA inspection. Of course the old Willys grandfather in - no tests for them.

Yup, I don't get parking lights anyhow, you aren't supposed to drive with them on, and when you park on the side of the road most people just keep the headlights on, (especially the state troopers) so they don't seem like they are really needed for much. If you have 4 way flashers I can't see when the parking light would come into use in normal driving.


Emissions only in your state and no safety inspection whatsoever?  Rumor is here in TX if you have one of the tire sensors failing you won't pass inspection next yearRIght now my one pickup with 370,000 mikles on it has the Check engine, ABS, and air bag light on.. Can't afford to fix any of it, wouldn't make a lick of difference in how it drives anyhow. (Besides, the ABS in the older trucks is unsafe and unreliable anyway. I almost drove the truck thru a glass window at the hardware store one day thanks to it. (and at the time no light was on.I pulled the fuse that day!)

Those tire sensors are a rip off. I can use a $2.00 tire gage but if the minimum wage tire guy breaks a sensor I am out $3-300 for WHAT.
