Nice, from the back it looks ready to go - well except for the lack of a gas tank filler neck showing behind the door cutout. You will need to put the gas tank back in before you can call it done.

A few weeks ago, I put the STA super traxions on my '2A to try out.

We got our first snow yesterday,  and I got a chance to try out the tires in snow today.  They did very well.  A couple photos:

Thanks!   I agree,  fun to look at photos.

Here is another taken a couple days ago.   The tires did very well in the snow again.  Even pulling a trailer,  up hill at times,  never got stuck.   The only time they would spin is in a off-camber turn,  uphill.  Even then, kept moving.

Now, what do I see on the rear crossmember? Looks like a pintle hitch and some sort of PTO output?

I wondered if anyone would notice the unlatched hood.     In this cold weather,  the engine idles too fast when first starting, so I open the hood to slow it down a bit.   Since only driving in the woods,  I only latch one side.

I power a homemade wood-splitter with the PTO.   A pintle hook is SO much easier to hook up than standard trailer hitch.  It can be noisy sometimes pulling the trailers or splitter thru the woods,  but I can live with that.

My CJ3A has the optioned 15" wheels. I was really planning on NDT/NDCC Square Shoulder version but cannot find a 15 inch version. The only patterns I have found are the round shoulder versions. What I really want are those Goodyears above too bad those have not been reproduced.

Those original Goodyear Tire picture brought back an amazing memory. The spare on my CJ3A was that original tire and remember it as a kid. Somewhere along the way as tires were changed by my father that tire was removed and replaced with a Firestone snow tire. Anyway time to replace the current set which is +10 years olds.

Welcome any input..might have to go with the STA Super Traxion kinda a closer cousin to the Goodyear. Thanks!

I was surprised when I checked with Universal Vintage Tire and found that you're right. The only 15" military tire they offer is an NDCC (round shoulder). All the NDT (square shoulder) tires they have are 16".

There is probably one available somewhere. You'll have to spend some time searching all the tire sources on the internet to find it.

I did a quick check at Lucas and Coker. Nothing in 15".
If you want NDT you'll have to get some 16" rims.

thanks John...appreciate the search and reply. I will continue to do some searching. If the Jeep had not been a part of our family since 1959 I might consider 16s but have to keep it true to the build.
