Factory tires

What type of tires came on a cj3a from the factory?  All I see are the military style ones offered by the parts places.

Check for the super traction.

Military one are square shoulder. Other non square shoulder NDCC tire will be more like tractor tire.

You can use normal day to day tire. Goodyear Duratrac fit perfectly.

You can see the pencil point tread is a little different than what is found on the never NDT's I have seen. Here's a new one:

Nice detailed photos Ryan.  Pretty neat to see old rubber.

As others have offered, the NDTs and NDCCs were the stock tires for these old beauties.

Original style tires look cool, and have that "feel" you can only achieve in an old Willys with an old style tire. 

A modern radial tire will perform better in a variety of conditions.

A tire that has an 'Old School' look, but is said to perform better in certain conditions is the Super Traxion.

When choosing, I guess it always come down to how you use your Willys.

 I found these tires from Coker through Summit Racing. Best price I've found at $136 plus free shipping.

I have been trying to decide on tires . .  I always liked the tread on the TraXion tires in 15" . .  but those 16" do look good on johnrb3b's

For this price,  I think I am going to order a set.  . .  thanks for finding the source!  :)

I agree the Super Traxion is a better tire, but the NDT's really catch peoples eye. Then they may not notice how high your hood is. ;D

That is a nice '3B !

The Super Traxions arrived,  and just had to try them on!   Only 2 of the innertubes were reusable.  Here is photo of rear. 

(obviously my '3A is not near as complete as the other Jeeps in this thread  ;D)
