Front bumper question
« on: May 19, 2014, 11:23:07 PM »
I have seen vintage pictures of 3As that actually had wood installed within the front bumper between the frame rails on the back side of the bumper....is this correct or would this have been an owner modification? might add a little rigidity..

thanks J

Hi Jeff,
I know WWII era Jeeps had wood fillers in the front bumper, but I don't think they were included on 3As. I haven't seen a reference for this option in Bob Westerman's book.

No wood on CJ-3As but M-38s did have the wood bumper filler.
