Another seat frame question

Hi guys I was wondering if someone has a picture of how the passenger side seat is supposed to mount at the back, the left side has the little bracket with a hole in it but these frames are supposed to fold forward so does it just fit over a post that is supposed to be sticking up from the floor? Also what does it rest on for the right side, all the pictures I�ve seen don�t show any mount on the seat frame and mine doesn�t have one either, there is also a little shelf on the wheel well but it doesn�t look like the frame would rest on it. The passenger seat does sit on that little shelf on the wheel house, and it has a short leg on the inboard frame that rests on the floor of the bed.

I put some sticky felt pads on the shelf and leg to help keep the rattles down........

The last picture is of the drivers inboard frame...looks like the same leg if your driver seat has one....

So the passenger side tab must just have a hole because they probably used the same tab on the drivers side so you use a bolt if you need it and don�t if not. Would it be possible to take a picture with the frame sitting on the tab something isn�t right with mine. Thanks for the pictures, it�s helping a lot.

I was going to try to take a picture of the frame resting on the tab but it is too tight with the seat back in place..you just can't see it....

Yes mine has a hole but it is not drilled through the wheelhouse as it is on the driver's side....same part no doubt.

I thought it might be too tight to get a picture, thanks for trying though. I�ll get it mounted in the 3 spots and then see how it looks, I can make something if I need to. Thanks.

How about a picture of the back of the frame where it contacts the fender well, I might be able to figure out what�s going on from that. Thanks

You might not have the right seat frames.

That could be, the seat frames came in a pile of parts I bought years ago. I�ll take some pictures of what I�ve got.

Click on the link and scroll down a bit.  You'll see a photo of the front legs on a CJ3A seat frame and a CJ2A seat frame.  This is the easiest way to tell the difference between the two.

If you have 2A seat frames in a 3A tub, they don't fit right.  If you have 3A seat frames in a 2A tub, they don't fit.

Mine are bent down like the 2a, so that must be my problem. I�m going to see if I can make them work, I�m not sure yet if I want to keep this kind of seat or not as I drive my Jeep a lot. If I do then I�ll try to get the right frames. Thanks for the info.

This is how I addressed the same issue.  I made new tabs that support the 2A seat frames.  This is a simple fix, but you are giving up a little leg room this way.  If you're tall, you might be more comfortable in an actual 3A seat.

A little late maybe but I got a couple of pictures. The seat rests against the wheelhouse bracket right where that length of protective tape is.....
