Making a tranny hump

Came across these pics while I was in my storage site for pic's and for anyone crazy like me who doesn't think a piece looks too bad until it gets uncovered a bit more then you have to deal with it. Here is how I made my tranny hump







with fuel tank out I thought it was going to be o.k. but with tool box out it was pretty ugly

I marked the contour and cut out cardboard for a template then cut wood with bandsaw and glued pieces together







Save the top parts for later and measure as best you can from old piece and part you are going to attach it to

Next with sheet metal larger than needed begin clamping it down and the top pieces are your form guide







I used a plastic mallet and some body hammers to just eyeball it and unclamped it to see how it was fitting

Kept old piece for somewhat of a guide







When I got it fitting pretty good I put some screws through it to place it then welded it in. The edges are under the tool box and gas tank so not really critical for looks. next guy can fuss about it after I am gone. I have the other work underneath that I will find later. I had gotten my floor pieces from classic Enterprises and do not remember if he had full floors available back then.
