The Willys Hotline produced a fine lead this weekend. You think we have problems? I went to visit a guy with 34(!) tractors. Tractor Fever is very much like Jeep Fever and this guy had it bad. I did him a favor and made his collection "pure" again by sanitizing the property of all traces of Willys Jeeps. I removed a CJ3A, and CJ2A and a pile of miscellaneuos Willys parts.

The gray 3A is rough but the yellow 2A is pretty solid. Lots of bondo and patch panels but the frame looks great. It could make a fun little driver. Neither Willys runs but the motors are not stuck and they both roll. It could be worse.

This sickle bar was allegedly used on a Jeep at some point. Not sure if it was made for a Jeep or if it's been Bubbafied to fit. I'm thinking Bubba. Cool piece either way and I now own it.

The new winch turns an hours long labor camp exercise into 60 seconds of work with one thumb.

The 2A is sporting a set (including spare!) of 7.50-16 REMINGTON HEAVY DUTY UNIVERSAL TRACTION tires.

The 2A motor appears to be later. The serial number boss above the water pump is stamped with a number but it's not a Willys number. Probably from a previous rebuild.

Nice 2A seat with original coverings almost completely intact.

Also got a spare windshield, grill, and a pile of rims and tires.

First up - the 2A.

Add battery.

Check oil.

Add coolant.

No spark so I swapped distributor and coil with known good ones.

Cut rubber fuel line running to crudded up tank and installed substitute made from a wine bottle, rag, coat hanger, and duct tape.

Watched carb puke fuel all over the place so opened up and adjusted float to proper setting. No more flooding.

Shut off and restarted in gear to free up stuck clutch.

Road worthy.

Hmm. Looks like I'm not the only one with Bubba tendencies.

I came out from work one sunny, summer afternoon and found what you see in the upper pic - gaoline spiked with Sta-Bil. Yikes.

There was still some gas in the tank so I risked starting it. Actually made it home. But I had to do what you see in the lower picture to move it into the garage that weekend.

A Willys Hotline tip sent me about and hour-and-a-half "Downeast" today seeking out this stash of goodness. Almost all of it is for sale but due to logistics I'm not sure yet if I want to tackle some, any, or all of it. Very cool place and very gracious host either way..

It was impossible to capture it all but here's a few shots that'll get the Willys juices flowing

Your typical "Maine woods Willys truck find"

There's a 2A in here somewhere

Oh yeah there it is. That's as close as I could get....

Parts literally crammed into the rafters of various outbuildings.

Crusty old 3A. Note the top bows.

3B. Good frame, fired up instantly, runs good, body utterly shot. I've never had a running 3B and this one is talking to me.

2A and CJ-5

Custom defroster system in the CJ5

3B plow rig. I believe that's a Willys hardtop, right? I like it.

Pickup

And another one

Jeepster under a tarp

Jeepster in a shed

This is super cool. A stretch pedal car Willys WRECKER!! Never seen one before.

So we'll see if this amounts to anything. If it does, you'll know about it  ;D

That's quite a stash--which would result in a true exercise in sensory overload for me. I like the 3b w/plow, the kiddie car, any Jeepster, the red 3B, etc, etc, etc.   I give up, no use trying to fight it...

There is nothing like that in my area.
What is it with the northeast woods?

Well,,,,I'm looking for a good top bow for my 3A.

The light blue Jeepster inside the shed....is it a 1950 with an inline 6 engine...? The only cure to my willys illness is my empty pocket.

I'm sure Jeepster jim would like to get those.
I'm jeepcoholic!

One down from this collection. I brought the 3B home last night. She's rough but seems like a decent runner. It was dark by the time I got home so I only took a short tear around the neighborhood. Further testing will be in order in the days ahead....

You're bringing these things home faster than I can comment on them.  Geeeezzz.

That is a fine looking 3B.  It ran right out of the gate?

The 3B does run, and leaks everything everywhere, so we know it's a genuine Willys.

I brought this one home tonight. It does not run. Leak status unknown at this point. I'll check for puddles in the morning ;D
