Another road trip....
« on: July 21, 2013, 07:33:38 PM »
Seems I am completely dominating the photo thread as of late but here's a few more. I drove to the Owls Head Museum Truck and Tractor show today. It was a 165 mile round trip with the windshield down and my MBT in tow. An epic voyage indeed. Lots of Jeeps at this show plus a bunch of other goodies. All the planes pictured here flew today. As if looking at and talking about Jeeps wasn't good enough, doing so with a bunch of vintage birds circling overhead is even better.

Amazing pictures again Ryan! Thanks. I really like the baseball gloves and bat on the back of the jeep.

That GPW was amazing. I have never seen one with more detailed decor. The glove and bat were my favorite too. Really gives it a personal touch.

There were dozens of old Macks and other heavy duty haulers. Very cool stuff. Your Maine engine brethren were well represented too. Here's one

Ryan,
Thanks for sharing another road trip with us. You covered my two favorite machines: vintage Jeeps and vintage planes.

Don't worry about dominating the photo thread. We all enjoy your posts. carlsjeep, macgraham, and I will be competing with you in the next few weeks. We are getting together to do some trail rides.

Well, I must add that we'll compete if we can post as many pics at one time as you do. A few others and myself have expressed our inability to post more than 3 pics at a time using Photobucket. What's your secret?

I think it was Tim and/or Pascal that figured it out. Use the photobucket "IMG" link but remove the URL junk. Remove what is in bold font below and you can include as many photobucket pics as you want.

I'll put in a plug for that Forward Control.  I have always loved those things.  I believe that one's a 170?

I'm not sure what model that is. I think the FC's are great but I don't know much about them. That's the first one I've seen up close. 4900 miles on the clock which the owner believed was accurate. Quite a rig.

Actually, I have to give credit to the G-Gnome for this discovery.

Ryan, All I can say is WOW!!! 8-)

I'm having a hard time keeping up with your escapades. Either I live in a cave, or Colorado doesn't have cool events likes this. I'm very envious.

Thanks for pointing out that info was missing. It used to be in my profile but somehow evaporated. It's back now. Home base is Glenburn, ME.....It's just north of Bangor and about 2hrs north (or probably 7 hours if you're driving a Willys ;D ;D) of Portland.
