BMIC - First run of rebuilt motor!
« on: May 07, 2013, 11:41:21 AM »
As acting technical assistant for BMIC, I humbly present the following video of his first - and very successful - test run of his freshly rebuilt 3A motor.

I was fortunate enough to see this project in person this past weekend. It is superb and will no doubt be a masterpiece once it is completed. Should be ready for the Memorial Day parade, right Bruce?

Engine sounds good! But someone in the video doesn't. Little backfiring?  ;D

I should have specified - I did not take the video, I just posted it. Not sure who the cameraman was.

Between the coughing and the wind noise, the engine is having a hard time competing. :)

Why don't the camcorder makers supply wind screens for outdoor use? Huh?

I can attest to the fact that it runs perfectly. I was given a full demonstration and it did not disappoint. He's done a beautiful job with it.

Sorry for the background but after two years of Saturdays in the garage my chassis build was ready at 6 am on a cold windy day. All that was left was to haul my sick neighbor out of bed to record it on my cell phone. I am thrilled with the build thus far and although the initial street run is still months away, my two closest flat fender head buddies Jeff and Ryan M will get the first ride. Sorry Jeff, can't let you drive.... Next big question, Repli-tub or rebuild the old tub?

I'm crushed.  (just kidding!)  No problem, I know where there's a nice Pomona Gray 3A I can drive.  That video is great, and you're doing a very meticulous job with the rebuild.  Can't wait to see the finished project.
