The only thing I don't understand is why they where helmets.  Watch this 3 A in action, it's awesome what nitrous will do!

That thing is an absolute beast. What a blast. And with the absence of a roll cage and full harness I wouldn't bother with a helmet. In fact, I'd probably have a cyanide pill clenched in my teeth so I could better guarantee a quick death upon impact.
