Winter welding hazard

Making a smoker out of an old traffic signal cabinet and cutting up and welding some oven racks for the food and a stand for chips/water pan. Outside with temps in the 80's. I have a red maple tree in back yard which is nice as it does drop leaves and gives some color a little different than palms and oaks we also have in yard. Only problem is dry leaves and sparks make for a fire! It wasn't a big one or any problem to stomp out but did make the hunt exciting with a welding helmet on.

Might explain why population in my county doubles this time of year. Tested the smoker last night and got it up to 195 with 30 coals.

I wondered what a winter welding hazard would be--around here, I can't see it being much a hazard with two feet of snow on the ground.  Maybe the hazard is not being able to move away from something quickly if needed.  Or dropping something small in the snow and not being able to find it.

But then I see you have a different definition of winter...
