Larry I don't know exactly what the problem is on your searching, I searched exactly like you did and got the same exact answers, including the top post which was dated jan 2....that seems to be the date the actual post was made, not the time and date of the search, so I don't see a problem there or am I misunderstanding what you say....

You may try searching as a non logged in member  to see if there is any difference....

The dates aren't the problem, The problem is that no matter what subject I search on it always returns the exact same 10 results. Search on "engine rebuild" then search on "brake lines". See if you get different results.

I did that but could not get it to search again until I reloaded the search page and filled it out afresh. Try that and see if it works for you.. I did get totally different results searching for the two things you mentioned.

I did notice some quality posts in the search results. I am begining to see what you are talking about the wealth of lost knowledge.
