SNOW PLOW ?S

Hello, new to the forum. Long story short, Dad got grandpa's old 49cj3a, and as a family project, working on fixing it up. (Restoring one piece at a time) Tub for sure is cj3a, engine we believe is a 'Sears' and mash up of 49 parts. It runs! Drives! Has no brakes.

But for right now, we're mainly trying to figure out how to mount the snow plow 'inards.' The mount is already on (trying to get pb blaster on it so we can take it off later) and we have the plow. But we can't figure out anything about the 'pump' that comes with it. Where to mount it, how to wire it, etc. Anyone have any diagrams, or have done it themselves? Pics below, thanks for the help in advance!

It looks like the pump can be mounted anywhere and the power connects to the lug where the braided cable is. I'm sure there would be a heavy duty switch in there too.

Do you have any other parts for this hydraulic system? Do you know where that pump was mounted, the orientation would help determine how it should be plumbed. I'm assuming it is not a power angle arrangement.

So far, this is all that we were given. It doesn't look like there's any other place to hook up wires or controls? I'm guessing we have to be missing something else, but even searching for the brand name on it really hasn't gotten me anywhere. There aren't any holes on the fender walls or engine bay to suggest it was mounted there, or could be. Also, even with the room near the engine, I'm not sure where it would mount to. I was told you guys were the experts so I came to the best : D It's nice to know we're not crazy, it's a puzzle for everyone else as well!

Really need more facts to know for sure, but I will take a stab at it. One of the hoses goes to the lift cylinder on the plow. The other hose goes to a hydraulic reservoir. When power is applied to the braided wire going to the motor the pump runs and supplies fluid to the plow lift cylinder and it goes up. When the valve is opened on the powerpack the fluid is released from the plow lift cylinder and the plow goes down.

It was most likely mounted close to the drivers seat, as you would need to turn the valve to lower the plow (the handle looks to be broke off). Not really sure why there are two lines as its a one way setup.  Electrically you need a starter relay for a switch and a momentary switch to controll that, or simplify things and use a Willys floor starter switch.... Operation, close the valve on the side, push button to engage motor, plow goes up, open valve plow goes down... Pretty simple.

That would make sense, if there was enough hose, just to set it up next to the seat in the cab. Now we just need some snow so we can try it out! We have a spare starter solenoid around the place somewhere, we'll give it a shot. (if it snows, which fingers crossed, it won't...but we still have a bit to go!)

Have fun with it!...... Not really shure that setup was intended for plow use but will certainly do the job....
