My 1949 cj3a 4 year project

This was my Grandfathers Willys that he got in a deal for a Jeepster, it sat uncovered in his back yard for 25 years.  After his passing my Grandma gave it to me and the restoration began.  I intended to post pics over the years but it just never happened so here it is!

I like the color....

What is that canister on the drivers side in the "before" picture?

And you must have more pictures.....

Here are a few more, the color is a 2014 special edition jeep color and the black is bed liner. I have a lot more pics to post. I did all the work myself and with the help of my father in law.

I have know idea what the canister was!  I saved it, you never know.

Moocow, Very very nice. I absolutely love the color too. I saw this thread earlier today, then later went out to a local shopping area, and lo and behold I beheld a Jeep Wrangler with what looked like that exact color. It looked really good on that new Jeep (hard top was painted same color)
The red wheels on your Jeep really are a great contrast too.
I really like these old Willys Jeeps with COLOR...old CJ's look great with vivid colors!
The tires look "old school" too...are those bias plies?
Great job and thanks for posting...it's a great incentive for folks with rusty hulks...it make me want to get it done!

Yes, it is the original body, I replace all of they floors and rusted side panels. The only piece I did not fabricate myself was back end floor.  It now has bed liner covering the entire top and bottom so I hope in 30 years my kids don't have to do it again!  It was a lot of work but buying the rotisserie was well worth the money.

Very nice restoration!  If you get a chance, try to attend the Fall Midwest Willys Reunion in Effingham, IL.  It is probably about 5 hours from KC, but it is definately worth it!  You'll get a good chance to show your Willys off and meet some great Jeep guys.
