Makin' my '49er streetable

Hey Guys, since I first got my '49 running decent in March, I've been driving it around my house getting all the bugs out. I'm pretty confident in it now so I might as well get it registered. I got some nice dinged up Naco's and these arrow turn signals for the front. Since this jeep is original and unrestored, I've been trying real hard to get rusty, beat up, used parts.



They look like they were made to go on the front. I used two existing 3/8" bolt holes.

Thanks! She is a survivor. The tub is decent and 100% stock, unmolested and unrestored. Gonna stay that way too.

Today I put the two tail lights on I got from a 2Apage member. To my surprise while doing this, I noticed the tail light that was on there used the original NACO boot and plug!!!



I drilled a mirror image of the holes on the passenger side.



Ta Da! I still have to wire the other one up and wire the blinkers.



After I get all this done, I'm going to work on removing all the primer to expose the original paint. Its gonna be hard work, but well worth it to expose the luzon red!

Here's how the engine bay came out after some judicious elbow grease. The pressure washing of the frame didn't work so well. I also think I'm going to have to wet sand the body to...

Now I know why people repaint it black! It's a brown, ...brown..., like ah...brown that I did'nt want on my jeep!
