Painted some AR15's
« on: March 21, 2015, 09:43:16 PM »
I finally got around to painting 2 of my AR's.  Been meaning to do it, just haven't had the time.  Black just seems too boring, and sticks out like a sore thumb in the real world.  I'm sure they'll get scratched up and such, but I'm pleased with how they turned out.

Those came out really cool. Not sure I'd have the courage to blast mine with paint though. Did you have to use anything special or just just rattle-can Rustoleum?

I have painted my shotguns, but I don't believe I could spray my colt, one question though, why did you paint tan to overlay black? wouldn't you just overlay with tan?  the black is flat to start with.  no wrong answer, just curious

I really love my AR's, but I know I will never be selling them, and all they are is tools really, so it didn't bother me to paint them.  I just used the rustoleum ultra flat camo type paint.  of course I cleaned all of the oil off the rifle first.  I know that looks like black in the picture, but it's actually olive drab.  i only wanted sand and olive drab in the color scheme, so i just covered over the black with the sand.
