Outdoor tools selection/carrier

Been doing a lot of research and finally picked tools for camping/hunting. I wanted good quality and mindful of pricing I picked 4 tools and then had to figure out a way to keep them together. Here is project.





This was that French tool carrier that I thought about when the fella bought the Duluth Tool Roll. It is not suitable for vehicle tools in my opinion but looked like it would do for my outdoor tools and for 20 bucks no great loss. It worked well

Here are my tools. I picked a Bahco 26" camp axe and it is made in Germany plus the place I bought it from puts an edge on it and that was a plus. Next is a folding 24" buck saw made by Bob Dustrand here in USA. it's an amazing tool and well thought out and eats wood like nobodies business. I bought a combo set from same place I got the axe and it is a Bahco Laplander folding saw and Mora Companion knife and sheath. Both made in Sweden. Total weight is a little under 7 lbs.





The sleeve is a holder for the buck saw and it's very well made

Here was work on carrier. I cut out seams to open up the pockets and some of the leather bits along bottom of the pockets. I really wanted to make the strap work to hold the axe and it does a good job. I will probably tweak it a bit with some ties/clips or snaps but will use it first to see how it functions. I still have 2 pockets so I could get a stone or file and some oil in there and a pair of gloves. it closes up nicely and the strap is a big plus as you can carry it with hands free or hang it up and it has 2 hefty belt loops on the back. i need to clean and condition it a bit but all this under 10 lbs weight and under 200 bucks I am very pleased plus it's just grab and go.

All you need now is a magnesium fire starter with back up string line for old fashioned friction fire starting and the spot in the carrier for them. Good job!
