Wiper motor modification
« on: March 02, 2016, 09:36:23 PM »
Just recently bought a 52 CJ3A, a dream that finally came true. I don't know to much about them but I did see something odd on it when I brought it home. The wipers are run by one electric motor with linkage to each blade. When doing a google search, I couldn't come up with this mod anywhere. Is there anyone familiar with this mod?

Someone has taken an under dash wiper motor from a newer rig and adapted it. I'm sure its been done many times in the past.

I plan on using two Marine Wiper motors 2 speed adjustable sweep and park. Not real cheap but I live in the Wet part of Oregon and we like good working wipers.

From taking a good look at it the other day, it looks like one of the original owners relocated the wipers further down on the windshield frame to use the one electric motor. Not to thrilled about that since I cannot lower the windshield down now because the wipers hit the hood. Have to bring it back to original.
