Manifold gasket question

I'm putting my manifolds back on the engine with a new gasket, but...I'm wondering just when you guys like to use copper coat gasket spray.  I used it on my head gasket with success, but don't know if I need it on the manifold gasket.  What do you think?  Is there a 'rule of thumb' that dictates when to use a sealer on a gasket as opposed to just installing a gasket without?  Your help is much appreciated!

Thanks, Larry.  Is there a consensus as to when an additional gasket sealer is needed vs. using the gasket "as is"?  Does it have to do with pressure or moisture, or heat, or what?   I'd appreciate any input on this, and I expect I am not alone.

I use Permatex on just about every gasket except head and manifold. Manifold I never use a sealer as it's not needed and can sometimes cause more problems than it cures. On the head gasket I spray with Copper Spray-A-Gasket. Everything else gets Permatex Form-A-Gasket #2.

I tend to use sealer for everything that gets wet, oil or water, the dry stuff seems to be ok without it.

I tend to agree with the others. �I am still in re-assembly mode, but I did not use any sealer on the manifold gasket. �I use Permatex #2 on other oil contact gaskets and shaft splines. �I did kick up to Permatex Ultra Blue silicone plus the gasket for the oil pan. �I'm not sue yet if any of it will leak. �I am still at this stage. �(see photo)
