Rear Axle tools?
« on: May 02, 2012, 09:10:28 PM »
I figure as part of my rebuild I should check the brakes and repack the bearings.  That being the case can you guys help me with a list of what "special" tools I may need.  If I have to buy it or build it I'd like to know ahead of time.  I lost 3 days pulling my steering wheel and don't want to run into another one of those.

Thanks,
-John

You will need a brake hub puller, all the rest of the brake job is done with standard hand tools.

Were you able to get the steering wheel off without destroying it?

Make it easy on yourself, find a brake adjustment wrench. The adjustment studs can be a pain without a slotted wrench. i have bought several on Ebay, and it sure makes life alot easier.
