that is the shift pattern of the T98 in my Dad's M38. I would make sure reverse is over and up and not over and down. That's the only thing I can't recall clearly 100%.

It looks like bubba work on the crossmember, however my Jeep has/had wood spacers that were between the frame and crossmember that I believe were stock spacers. Your jeep probably had something there also that was replaced by bubba with what's currently there.

That's very interesting. Mine has a T-90 as did most of them I believe. I've only seen evidence of one other diesel CJ with a T98.

That's a big patch.

I choose to go with JB Weld for now.

Yes. Very big patch indeed. Not sure who did it but it would not have been my repair method had I had the jeep at the time it went "bang!" If I ever pull the engine for rebuild, I will likely take the block to a professional welder to have it repaired correctly.

My block is actually broken and patched. Probably a big chunk missing under the patch. It's the opposite side of the block from the other perkins we've seen with a windowed block from #3. I've seen guys stitch powerstroke blocks, It should work for your perkins also.

He's using the diesel drivetrain for his CJ-6 build. The 5 however doesn't look as bad as it used to. It probably is restorable.

I am extremely jealous of the manuals you received with this Jeep..... Nice start!

And my now languishing 3A- This was about 2005 in Moab. Nothing appears different from this pic but am a few years into a fuel injected 5.0 swap that I just can't find the motivation to finish yet.

 Hi Guys-
Signed up to follow another Perkins Diesel powered Jeep. These suckers are hard to find info on. I can also offer some decent tech on some subjects. Glad to be here.
