Thanks much, I've been away for a while, with my head and my fourth point of contact in unison. needless to say, the jeep is sort of back on track. I will be posting some for trade stuff here soon, as I am trying to get rid of "wrong" and replace with "right" with minimum cost. the body work is what is going to kill me though, so mostly I am looking for a lot of detail photos of all of the panels and all the angles. that and a lack of good publications directly relating to this project. still need to get his book... hmm...

I briefly looked over their site, ... Is that your book that Walck's has for sale?

The front axle should be a Dana 27 with a modified "pumpkin" cover, correct?

As for the steering, Would it perhaps be a Ross?

Ok, that is nice to know, about the axle, the brakes are all coming off anyways so I can re-do them and clean up the routing. Most likely will go back to dual when it is all said and done.

As far as it goes where would I post things for barter, as ito have much to barter for and seemingly less to barter with haha.

Well, cannot be lucky all the time I suppose, I could see how it possibly may have changed over the years to an 8 from a 2, but I digress, I am doing steering and grill removal this weekend, for clean up and prep for the frame clip and fix. Is there any information that you may be able to provide me for these tasks?

No, it does not, but perhaps they used a hood number for it? 168595? Do you perhaps have a restoration album for your v35u? I would very much like to see what right looks like.

I guess it wouldn't hurt to mention that, I bought it in El Dorado, Ca some months ago. (tail end of 2013 roughly)

unfortunately not, and am more than likely going to have to put a lot of work in to finding it. I was able to find quite a few older registrations for it, whilst digging through the 2 bins of parts that it came with. The oldest one was from 99 and it uses the same # as I registered it with. I am thinking that maybe in the mid 90's was when the data plates were removed and the ugliness had forcibly set in, bringing it to current. However I have the name of the individual I bought it from, and the name from the title from 99, so time to find a tracker... XD   

Am I correct in my thoughts that using a good number of M38 parts would be acceptable? it seems that the systems and major components are pretty similar? :-?

Meaning a well done body, proper major components, but not 100% with the radio and all, at least not for a good while yet. Running stopping and driving on the correct parts would be the I think a good start?

Many of the parts that are unique to a CJV35 are very difficult to find. How accurate do you want it to be?

Given the uniqueness of this 'jeep', I suppose that best interest would be to do it as accurate as possible.

that is brilliant, I just arrived at a similar conclusion after looking at the v-35 page you have sir, quite pleased to say I am glad I asked before I welded.
