i've had the old girl torn down for way to long. the pass side head light wires go under the grill shell ? and the speedo cable any tips as to were not to run it ? and were does it go in to the tub ? at the fire wall or the floor ?

On a 2A/3A, the passenger side headlamp and park light went below the grille.
Note: I had to run mine across the top of the grille because the Walck's harness that includes a bigger loom to accommodate the turn signal wires, it didn't fit below.

Sorry, Tim, but on all of my CJ2-A's and my CJ3B, the RHS headlight wires run across the top of the grille, on the "spacer" ahead of the radiator. On the CJ2-A's the wire for the RHS parking light wire runs underneath the grille (Why? I dunno), but the CJ3B has the parking light wire inside the headlight harness across the top. I don't have a CJ3A :(, so I can't speak for them. Incidentally, my GPW is the same as the CJ2-A's.
The speedometer cable? Tim's link should show you which firewall hole it should come out of, and from there, there's not many ways it can go. If it's long enough, it can go inside the frame rail for a little bit. Just keep it from rubbing on the front driveshaft

Here are a couple pictures.
The gray one is the 1951 CJ-3a.
The red is the 55 CJ-5.
The CJ-5 has turn signals so there is an extra wire outside the normal loom.

I may be mistaken. It's been a while now, but I found wire loom clips and old loom remnants along the lower edge of my 3A grille, so I asked Bob Westerman about that. I believe he left me with the impression that all or part of the passenger side wires were down there. Maybe it was just the park light wire...? Maybe I'm smokin' dope. :)
EDIT::Okay, I found an original 2A grill picture posted by Ryan M over at the 2A page. Scroll down a bit to see the 2A grill with the lower wire loom. It was for the park light wire only...

At the time I was putting my green 3A together, I was thrown off by the Walck's wire harness containing both the headlight wires and the park light wires in a single loom, thus my question to Bob Westerman.

Here are pics of my original '62 DJ3A showing wires on top of grill including turn signals. Headlights fed from top as well. Hope it helps. BTW, My passenger side brake line was held with a "clip" under the grill on the cross arm.

Sorry my answer was confusing. On the CJ-3A the right side headlight wires go on top, and the park light wire goes on the bottom. I'm not sure why the Walck's harness has the park light wire in with the headlight wires.

I would guess that the "one size fits all" approach to making it easier for the seller might be a part of this. I believe the CJ-3B does this (headlight/parking light in the same loom). When I ordered mine - to include wiring for turn signals - I ended up with an additional loomed wire that barely fit under the harness clip meant to secure the headlight/parking light wires.
If the owner knows (I didn't know anything since my harness was just a mass of loose wires) what is needed or what is wanted, they can ask the seller to incorporate that need. Then it'll be a beneficial conversation starter at the next Reunion when someone notices!!

thanks, and yes my park light ( yellow ) wire comes off the head light loom like the org. on the pass side only

awwa the grommets >:(, the new ones are 1 1/8" mine are just under 3/4" any thoughts walcks 4wd doesn't have them, kaiser has a 1/2" s and the one in the pics

I got my harness from Vintage Wiring (VW). Theirs included a grommet that fit in a smaller hole (I just measured the outside of the grommet and it was .78"). I notice each of your wires have their own hole to pass through the grommet. The VW grommet had one big hole for the loom that encased the wires.

thanks for help, i got grommets local at restoration specialties https://www.restorationspecialties.com/ there were ten mins from work, a co worker told me of them.... i got the grommets and harness tie down straps all for under a buck for each item. they don't have much for us guys but they had enough to be help full :)
