Update: Wow!!!  Five months ago I said that the 3B was finished. Here it's the end of October and after four engine swaps it is running very well. The 231 Odd FIre is really strong. What a super fun little jeep.

Well the 3B is finished. I guess it's time to do the 2A.

You might have a good point there. I'll check it after some time and if there's an issue I'll clean things up and drill a hole. Thanks for the positive feedback. It's been challenging at times but always rewarding. It not the destination but the journey.

To me, "lack of frequent use" would be more of a reason to make sure it is greased to keep condensation out of the bearing from sitting idle in an air pocket.  An "ounce of prevention", if you will.  Nice work on both ends and in between too.

That's a stout looking bumper.  Will the pivot have a grease fitting?

Ron
It had one but I decided that I probably wouldn't be putting very many miles on the bearings (considering the fact that they would turn about a quarter of a revolution once in a while) I deleted it.
It is a very stout bumper. I used 3" victolic or in English "fire suppression pipe". It's about 1/4" thick. Heavy but not too heavy. Below is a shot of the front bumper.

My back bumper and spare tire carrier is almost finished. It's coming out pretty good.

Back to the build. I'm attaching a few pictures of the problems I had to overcome. The bellhousing needed a little more room. Also the engine being farther back wouldn't allow the emergency brake cable to go into it original location. I routed it around the transmission mount and up through the floor to the brake handle pictured.

The transmission/transfer case was pretty loud so I checked the gear oil and found lots of metal. I'm in the process of switching them out with a spare I've had in the corner for a while. Just waiting for the seals and a few other parts to put it back together.
Rebuilding both should be a good project for next winter.

I don't have to go topless anymore.

Sammy,
Is that the same top out of PR discussed here in Scott's thread?
