I have NDT's on my Jeep and I can tell you for sure they are good in dry sand or wet sand, on the flat or on the hill. Why do you think the military used the NDT's.

I have drove through quick sand� and wet sand in streams but you can't stop, you have to keep plowing through. I guess if the sand is deep enough and loose from spring water you could get stuck.

One time I got stuck was crossing a sandy creek with running water but couldn't get up the steep bank. I had to winch the Jeep out of the stream. That was the fun part of it� :). Doing an easy cross is not as fun.

A place in SE Utah has a sand hill that is used to test climb ability and test it does. My used tires didn't make it up. The new NDT's made it up the hill.

Well, I wish I lived close enough to a beach to give you an honest assessment.  Alas, I'm pretty land locked.  I can tell you how they perform on other surfaces.

Powdery deep snow...Not great.
Heavy wet snow...Pretty decent.
Wet rainy....bad.
Ice...Not good.
Rocks and gravel...Pretty good.
Colorado dirt...Awesome! :)

I was wondering if anyone had experience taking a 3A with military tires through loose sand. I'm taking it to the Outer Banks of NC this weekend and debating on weather or not to take it on the beach. My truck with regular radials always does fine, but I'm not sure about military tires. My thoughts are that they will just dig a hole. Anyone have actual experience?
