« on: December 13, 2010, 10:02:55 PM »When reassembling the parking brake, the strong retracting pad springs hook under a catch. � If you do not hook them behind the catch or lip thingy, then the springs that retract the parking brake pads will rub on the rotating mass. �Double check that the springs are under the retaining hooks. � The hooks also connect from behind the pads. �I missed that a couple times before I figured it out. �Also, when the spring is not behind the hook, the pad edges have a tendency to wander outward toward the drum face. � They might then only catch when the drum is rotating in reverse. �Possibly allow the drum to ratch over the obstruction in forward and catching in reverse. That could be the problem. �
