This is what I have in mind, not shocks or air bags. http://www.adventurerv.net/800-lbs-round-bar-weight-distribution-distributing-equalizer-hitch-p-5254.html

The ramps are actually overkill but what the heck, they won't bend. I may still make some support stands at the rear of the trailer. With them I could load or unload when the trailer is unhooked.

I've wondered about the tag light and the cops, I'll ask the sheriff about it.

I couldn't get the loops any more to the rear but I can loop the strap around the rear upright to draw the Jeep to the rear if needed. The Jeep turned out to ballance about where I had thought.

I am planning to get some tire covers like they use on motor homes for all five tires. I also need to put the reflectors back on the sides.

Looking very good, Carl..A couple things you may want to consider.. Instead of load leveling shocks, try an equalizing hitch setup. With the small FOrd pulling it, it will level things out and make the tire loading more equal between truck and trailer. I used to use a F-25o that had rear springs made from pasta or something equally soft, and the equalizer turned it into a beautiful setup.

Those ramps look great, would only take a pair of legs off the ramps ending a few inches above the ground to act as safety legs.

Got the same plate setup as you on mine, no problems with cops reading it or losing it, I did add a forward facing plate light on the angle iron upright you see just behind the fender.. ran the wire inside the angle, thru a drilled hole into the light. No tickets for a missing license plate light that way.

What are you using for tie down points? EDIT, I see the welded on loops! Might want to put something straight back too...Adds to your options later..

Oh, and keep those tires covered when parked, the AZ sun is brutal on trailer tires..(You probably know that already, lol. )

Been slowly working the trailer to the way I need it. My long list of things to do is very short now. I may not make stands to hold the tail of the trailer up when loading the Jeep or tractor as it seems to not be a problem.

I have the brakes on and tested them today and got them adjusted without a load. I am using a Voyager controller and I put a switch to turn it off if I don't want trailer brakes. I am thinking about getting some load levelers to keep the trk and trailer level. I'll decide that after I make a test run with the Jeep on the trailer.

I hope the price of gas doesn't postpone the trip. I don't think I will get more than 12 mpg.

Here's the way it looks today.
