Sorry everyone I did a horrible job of keeping this post updated.  The jeep is all back together again and running.  I have not road tested it yet and am almost afraid to.

It is Strata Blue and it was used by the USAF.  I have the PPG paint code at home for it. PPG was the original supplier.

What would you say that exterior color is called? I want the exact same shade of blue, and I'm sure it will be a chore to explain it to the guy at the local spray booth.

It's called "Strata Blue". Do a Google search for something like "Strata Blue M38 Navy" and you'll find all kinds of things to show to your paint guy.

Ok the brakes are all done.  They seem to be working.  I still need to bleed them better.  Sorry I was busy and didnt take photos.  The swap was fairly simple with only some minor issues.

I have rebuilt the motor twice and each time it ends up with metal in the oil.  Dont know where it is coming from so I have given up on this block.

Very cool M38.  And a build thread with a time limit.  Gotta love that!

What's up with the old motor?
