New guy from NH...
« on: December 16, 2013, 10:04:32 AM »
Hi Gang;

I haven't owned a flattie yet, but when I do it will likely be a 3A or M38. I'm in search mode and is one of the reasons I joined this forum.

My first project was a M38A1 in the early 90's which was a non-stock build (mostly 12 volt and brake mods). I sold that jeep in 2003 when I moved at the time.

Right now, I'm slowly working on a 64 CJ6 with a factory Perkins diesel. I acquired that project in early 2011. I'd like to share my experiences with that project....what's the correct place to begin that thread? 'Your stock jeep project' (yes, will be very close to stock)?

Thanks for your help!

Pete

Yeah, I'd say put it in "Stock Jeep Project" since it is stock, even though it's not a 3A. It wouldn't fit in "Non-Jeep" since it is a Jeep.

I'm sure most of us will be interested in anything you can tell / show us about your diesel. Many of us will envy you as well. I sure wish I had a diesel. That would be so cool.

Welcome!

We are not limited to 3A when it's time to project. I own a DJ-6 1965 (2wd version of the CJ-6) and a part jeep CJ-6 1966.
I'm jeepcoholic!

Yes, I saw that after pouring over this site over the past couple of days  [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

Hillsborough is about 1/2 hour away from me, however I fear my jeep is still a couple years away from being done! I'll stay tuned.

Sweet! At least I can push if someone get's stuck! [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif]

I hope to have it rolling by 2015 realistically. There are no plans to make her shiny (bet you've heard that before). Mechanically sound and no rust are my goals. I like the patina the way it is!
