3B page shut down
« on: April 29, 2025, 12:48:01 PM »
Trying to access the Cj 3B page.  Shut down by founder as protest to President Trump

Crazy politics! Why?  Maybe pouring gas and lighting yourself on fire?

Such silliness.

Thanks for your comment.  You may call what I have done a "protest to President Trump" but I do not call it that.  And it is not "politics" -- please read on.

I have blocked access to CJ3B.info from the United States until the country rejoins the international community.  The American government has rejected international norms, abandoned international agencies, and attacked its allies economically.  So it seems appropriate that access to an international resource like CJ3B.info be withdrawn.  I hope this won't go on for too long, and I apologize to the many Americans who are appalled by what their government is doing.

Some people have been complaining about "politics" intruding into the vintage Jeep hobby, and if you live in the United States it might be politics for you, but it's not politics for me.  The American government is threatening to take over my country.  That's not politics, it's not acceptable, and we don't want to be the next Ukraine.

I'm sorry for the people who are losing something that's part of their hobby.  I'm losing many of the people who appreciate what I have spent 28 years building.  But most of all I'm losing my trust and respect for the United States, and that's not something I can just pretend isn't happening.

Sat it isn't so.... WTFuture???

So is this site going to "retaliate" hurting us ALL and DIVIDING US EVEN MORE???  I guess the ICONIC "American" WILYS JEEPS are "back in political jurisdiction situations" unfortunately.

So sad, and HURTING the WRONG PEOPLE... IMO.  We Willys enthusiasts/hobbyist are NOT at FAULT nor IN CONTROL of "politics", but here we are...

May GOD's WILL PREVAIL over the desires of a few!!!

Thanks, Steve.  Not sure why this should divide you from somebody.  Are there vintage Jeep fans who think the US should take over Canada?  You have elected a government that has made it clear this is on their agenda.  By "the desires of a few" I assume you are talking about a few people in government, so I appreciate your invocation of God's will.  But God needs your help.

Derek, DO NOT "ASSUME" and MAKE THIS ISSUE for "PERSONAL ATTACTS".  SPEAK WITH FACTS!  "THAT" is the DEREK I became to know of, after many, many years of association and emails with you via Willys Jeeps at various sites, including your own "magnificent site operation, and content".  We are ALL in the same WORLD!!!  You be YOU!

I first saw this on the CJ3B Facebook page.  I knew it would be divisive, so I hesitated posting here for that reason.  The responses so far confirm my fears.

We are a divided country with respect to policies and the approach to govern, domestically and internationally, using those policies.  As a country, we'll either figure this out and make things work better or we won't.

I'm very concerned and am watching and waiting to see how things unfold as we go forward.

I hope our community here, as jeep enthusiasts, can focus on helping each other as best we can.

Respectfully to all,

Rus

I understand Derek's perspective and position.
I, as a canadian as well, am considering repatriating all my other websites to Canadian hosts.
I hope our forum will be protected from any political debate that could harm the goodwill between all of us members.
I suggest that anyone affected by this situation use a VPN to continue accessing cj3b.info.
Willys is better then Ford! Proove? They don't stample their parts for warranty.

My worry is that USA based originators of content will want their content removed and thus make things even worse.

No, but we've got one of the trucks down here that's painted black with a big "3" on it.  It's not very fast......
