E brake

My question is where is the Ebrake on a 1951 CJ3A.I also have a spare trans and transfer case, no Ebrake on it either?Was it an option back then

The hand brake should be located on the back of the transfercase.  The rear drive shaft would then attach to the drum.  Checking the Service Manual, the setup is illustrated in Section P and it states this style was found on CJ-2a thru CJ-5/6s.

I don't have the time-line, but the earliest (possibly just military) had an external band that "squeezed" the drum.  After that, they more closely resembled a stock drum with the shoes on the inside.

 my 62 3b has a" micro to  lock " its a lever, plumbed in to the brake lines.    no hole in the dash for a cane style brake lever
